In over eight years of Irrational Passions, a lot has changed. People have come and gone, podcasts have started and ended, and many absolutely incredible and talented people have found their way to writing a post, a piece, or an article here on IrrationalPassions.com.
The Best of Irrational Passions is not to discredit every other piece that has been here, that will come and go, every other writer with a feeling or memory they’d like to transcribe to page, to read aloud to you, to take you into their world and their mind to retell an experience, a feeling, or a message that they took away from a game. I’d like to think of this page more a starting point for your journey with Irrational Passions.
This is a collection of pieces from the editors of Irrational Passions, myself as well as Jarrett Green, Logan Wilkinson, and Jurge Cruz-Alvarez, that we believe represent what Irrational Passions is all about, and some of our strongest collective moments or pieces or memories in IrrationalPassions.com’s almost ten year history.
Our hope is that this list grows, as our values and our ideas grow, as our talent, understanding of the written word, and our ability to recount our experiences with our one true passion: video games, truly evolves.
The descriptions of this list were predominantly written by the amazing Logan Wilkinson, with a few bits of my own writing in there to cover his pieces.
This list represents many people of many walks of life, all with different opinions about video games. Some of those, in fact I’d say most, may be different from yours, but my hope with this site has always been to share a vast spectrum of likes and loves across video games, just as games themselves are so varied and beautiful and poignant in their many different ways. I hope you find something on this list that really reaches out and changes you. Tells you something you didn’t know, opens your mind to a new kind of game, a new kind of experience, and leaves you with something that wasn’t there before.
That’s just my hope. And hey, maybe if you like what you see, you’ll stick around, tune into a podcast, and see what else we have to offer.
Either way, thank you for your support. Thank you to everyone who has taken time out of their day to write something for this site or read something the many incredible and talented people have come to this site to write, and thank you to all who may come in the future.
Play your games, stay irrational~
