I Get This Call Every Day was written, developed, drawn, and published by Mr. David Gallant. His day job was working as a customer service representative working with the Canadian Revenue Agency. David has made a few simple free flash games before he made I Get This Call Everyday. You can find those game here. Mr. Gallant made I Get This Call Everyday to simulate some of the calls he gets and the frustrations that come with the job.
David wrote the story so you lose no matter what you say or do with the customer on the phone. Its an interesting approach because no matter what you try to do in real life, you always lose. After a few minutes with the guy on the other line, he will hang up and you get an email from your boss saying you are fired for handling that customer badly.
I give David credit for his boldness in making this game. Everything he did, he did by hand, even drawing the pictures and graphics. Its a great game that was inspired by real events. Good graphics are a plus, but not necessary for this game.
What David did hear really deserves some props. This game took courage to make and I applaud him for making it. A lot of people have to suffer through phone calls just like that, or even have to speak directly with the person when they are giving you a hard time. I saw something like this happen while I was at my job trying to sort out my work schedule. A lady goes up to the customer service desk to get a refund for a product that was stale. The customer service rep did a good job and handled it very well. The lady didn’t have a receipt with here at the time and the rep said he couldn’t give her a refund without it. After a few minutes of going back and forth about why he can’t give her the refund he finally tried scanning the item. It worked, but the customer was still complaining about it.
David isn’t the only one who has to deal with those people that drive you nuts, even though not everyone is like the person he made up in his game. Most of the people are friendly and very understanding when they talk to customer service representatives. Then there are just those few that like to question and argue about everything.
I sadly can’t review this game because I know David and he is a good friend of the website, making me just a little bit bias. I would recommend this game to all my friends and people that aren’t into video games because its a simple game that is tells a satisfying story. David got fired for making this game, so please make sure his hard work didn’t go to waste.
