Modern Warefare 3 (MW3) is based in India and America in the year 2016. The main characters are John “Soap” MacTavish, John Price, and Nikolai. NikolaI and John Price are trying to rescue an injured MacTavish out of the country. The three man team is on its way to the hideout when the opposing team, lead by enemy terrorist and conspiritor Makarov, invades their hideout in India. One of Nikolai’s partners, Yuri, who is against Makarov, gives MacTavish an adrenaline shot to keep him alive, and as Yuri, Nikolai, and Price fight their way out of the safe house they use a minI tank to clear a way for MacTavish and his escort. They fight through waves after waves of enemies. Throughout the game Price is trying to find Makarov. In the meantime Delta Force is fighting in New York trying to fight off the invasion. They have many battles in the sea, air, and ground. Delta has to fight their way through the streets of New York to take down a tower on top of a building so that they can restore communications with their home base. There are many difficult missions throughout MW3.
To me the missions were fun and entertaining, but felt a bit short and tedious. On many of the missions you had to infiltrate and escape. One of these such missions is when you have to breach a castle, learn what you can, and get out. Most of the missions are like this in the way that once you do this a few times, it gets boring, and while i was playing i was thinking to myself when do i get to do something fun and not just run around and shoot. There were a few missions that sparked my interest. One of these missions was the mission where you had to infiltrate the enemy sub, which was a good change of pace from the running down the street and kill anyone in your way.
Battlefield 3 (BF3) is based on the Iraqi-Irani border in the year 2014. The game starts out in a flash back. You then return to the present as the main character Staff Sergeant Henry “Black” Blackburn. You then tell the story leading up to why you are in that jail cell talking to the C.I.A. The story is told in a flash back way, just like Call Of Duty: Black Ops. This makes the game interesting but also breaks up the story line.
To me, the missions were fun, the right length, and interesting. They kept me wanting to come back until the story was finished. The only problem I had when I was playing was that it kept starting me over and saying that the save could not be found, but I solved the problem and finished the campaign. The first real mission starts off in a convoy and you get re-routed to find a squad of team members. Later this mission turns out to be a ambush and on of the team and one of the members gets shot, but is not killed. You have to cover the medic team so they can get out. As you continue the mission you follow cord that leads to a bomb. You get attacked while disarming the bomb and it is an interactive fight scene, which is all through out the game, and when you get back outside and your squad is being attacked. You go take a position on a bridge. You are told to fall back and take a position on a .50 caliber gun to help keep the People’s Liberation and Resistance (PLR). An earth quake happens and then all hell breaks loose. You are left in a ditch and have to get to the extraction point. You have to crawl through drain pipes and other dirty areas to keep away from the PLR who are searching for any Americans. You get to the extraction point but after many hard battles between you and the PLR. There is a lot of action in these missions and they are very fun. You get to drive tanks, snipe, and protect hostages.
BF3 and MW3 are two great games, made by great developers. I prefer Battlefield 3 over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, because it looks more real and has a more interesting storyline and the multI player is made better with fully destructible environment and vehicles. I prefer BF3 over MW3 because the graphics are a lot better, camping is a lot harder, and the systems are a lot better. In BF3, your guns are almost fully customizable and you can choose almost any gun for any class. I also like BF3 better because it forces you to work as a team and not act like a lone wolf. Even though people do work solo it makes it harder because teamwork will get you revives and ammo. In MW3 you can only be revived if you had a certain perk on and if the shooter doesn’t take you out regardless. Otherwise you would be dead and your team would have no chance to revive you, a poor design choice in comparison to Battlefield. BF3 lets you revive you someone until they respawn. The way it works is that when a person dies when you revive them, they have two options. The first option is to respawn at the player reviving you, in or out of battle, so you have to be careful. The second option is to decline the revive and spawn at one of your squadmates, spawn at the dedicated spawn points, or you can spawn at one of the flags. In my opinion Battlefield 3 is superior to Modern Warefare 3.
